Crazy Love

So, there’s this book that comes out Thursday,  May 1.  A very kind person sent me the book about a month ago, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading it.  Crazy Love deals with the amazing love that flows from the Creator of the universe and the typical human response to that love.  It was both convicting and awakening.  You can go to to find out more or to watch two perspective changing videos (“The Awe Factor of God” and “Just Stop and Think”).   Oh ya … it’s written by my future pastor/ founder of my college 🙂

One Great Cover

As you all know, I love Phil Wickham.

As some of you know I quite like the song “Hallelujah”, a song mostly known from Jeff Buckley.

So, naturally, when I saw this I had to post it.

  (HT: Brody and Phil)

You may be wondering why the change?  To be honest I felt like this new title sums up my life, my aims, and my goals better than my old title did.  Right now it is my desire to have “my eyes on all of the above” as the song “My Future Decided” by Hillsong United goes.  Though I do still want the world to know, I feel as though I’m not there yet. My priorities are often out of wack and unfortunately I often fail to make the cross my only subject of boasting.  It feels like I’m stepping into a new stage of life though, and I’m incredibly excited about that.  This song by Hillsong United is really just my prayer right now …
And now the weak say I have strength
By the spirit of power that raised Christ from the dead
And now the poor stand and confess
That my portion is Him and I’m more blessed

Let now our hearts burn with a flame
A fire consuming all for your Son’s holy name
And with the heavens we declare
You are our king

We love you Lord, we worship you
You are our God, you alone are good

You asked your Son to carry this
The heavy cross our weight of sin

I love you Lord, I worship you
Hope which was lost, now stands renewed
I give my life to honor this
The love of Christ, the Saviour King

Let now your church shine as the bride
That you soar in your heart as you offered up your life
Let now the lost be welcomed home
By the saved and redeemed those adopted as your own

I give my life to honor this
The love of Christ, the Saviour King

Open Wide

This is the band Future of Forestry (the name comes from a C.S. Lewis poem .. how cool is that).

“Open Wide”

You have walked so deep a canyon
Deep a canyon now
In the end you know that you’ve been found
You’re found
Heaven sure fell hard upon you
Hard upon you now
In the end you know that you’ve been found
You’re found

Oh, you belong now
Oh, you are free

So open wide the arms you’re given
You’re too alive to just stand still
Open wide your heart as you breathe in
You’re too alive to just stay here

You wondered how your searching heart
Your searching heart would roam
Coming to the place that you’d call home
You’re home

You’re shaken up
You gotta live, you gotta love
