This isn’t the best video ever for The Following / Caleb Chapman, but I really quite like this song.  If you go to Caleb’s site you can listen to the recorded version.  It is on Caleb’s new solo EP.

  Caleb Chapman– “Hallelujah”
Revelation 19:1 : “After this I heard what seemed to be a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, crying out, “Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God”

(Sorry no lyrics yet .. but if/when I get them I will update)

My Romance ..

 … Is a divine romance.

On the words of complete satisfaction and God’s love… as John Piper says “God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him”…
John 17:13 “But now I am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves.”
Galatians 4:3-7 ; 1 John 4:16-19.

Happy Valentines Day.

Phil WickhamDivine Romance

The fullness of Your grace is here with me
The richness of Your beauty’s all I see
The brightness of Your glory has arrived
In Your presence God, I’m completely satisfied
For You I sing I dance
Rejoice in this divine romance
Lift my heart and my hands
To show my love, to show my love
A deep deep flood, an Ocean flows from You
Of deep deep love, yeah it’s filling up the room
Your innocent blood, has washed my guilty life
In Your presence God I’m completely satisfied

I listened to a sermon (Click on “God as Father”) last night.  It was my first sermon by C.J. Mahaney (thank you Andrew).  It stirred my heart and fired me up HUGE (thank you God).

I’ve mentioned before my attraction to the doctrine of adoption.  This sermon revisited that and blew up my previous perceptions.  There was a quote by Charles Spurgeon that I can’t find, but I wrote most of it down as best as I could.  It comes across better in the sermon, but in case you don’t have time to listen I’ll post it here:

** The heart is so corrupt naturally that love to God never did get there without God putting it there.  If you love God it is a fruit and not a root … it is the fruit of God’s love to you and did not get there by the force of any goodness in you… You may therefore conclude that God loves you if you love God. **

It was kind of cool because after the sermon was over I was just sitting there in amazement and silence .. didn’t move .. and then music started to play and I thought it was connected to the sermon .. but it wasn’t.  It was the nest song on my iTunes list.  It just so happened to be Chris Tomlin Your Grace is Enough.  It was the perfect ending.  So, if you do listen to the sermon, perhaps you will find it appropriate to listen to that song afterwards. And then maybe Amazing Grace (my chains are gone)em> by Chris Tomlin, and then maybe Hosanna by Christy Nockles from the new Passion cd.

God Is In Control

I want you to first watch this video and laugh .. because apparently it was taped in a cartoon castle … and then watch it again and think about the lyrics ( if you can get past the 80’s music).  It makes me think of Isaiah 40.  Specifically verse 13: ” Who has measured the Spirit of the LORD, or what man shows him his counsel?”

It is such a good thing that I am not in control … my life would totally be out of control.  Even if it seems to be at the moment, I can rest in the fact that God knows what He is doing, and I have no clue.  And that’s exactly where I want to be right now.
